Tricare

TRICARE is a comprehensive, worldwide health care program for members of the US military. TRICARE’s goal is to provide optimal medical care to US soldiers and their family members.

Generally, members of the US military primarily have access to US military health facilities. This includes US military hospitals, clinics, and other US military healthcare providers. However, if adequate medical care is not available this way, it can also be provided directly at the place of residence by local providers. In these cases, TRICARE covers the treatment costs.

This is subject to the patient being eligible for TRICARE, the treatment being approved, and the local provider allowing billing via TRICARE.

Individuals who are eligible for TRICARE include: US military members and former members, their spouses and minor children, surviving dependents, and, in some cases, divorced spouses.
